Dr. Reed joined Logicalis in 2000, coming to the company from Puget Sound Systems Group (PSSG), a Seattle-based systems integrator that was one of three core companies that merged to create Logicalis' United States division that now exists.

Today, Dr. Reed holds the title of chief technology officer for Logicalis' US operations. His responsibilities include overseeing Logicalis' extensive applications-related R&D efforts and applications services strategy. He is well regarded as an expert in the use of wireless technologies for business process automation.

Since he joined Logicalis, Dr. Reed has proven himself an invaluable member of the executive team, having managed several key divisions, including application development, managed services, professional services and product marketing.

In addition, he has also focused on ensuring the successful combination of the three companies and cultures that originally came together to create Logicalis in the U.S. Until 2000, when Puget Sound Systems Group was sold to Datatec Ltd., Logicalis' parent company, Dr. Reed served as an officer and vice president of technology with PSSG.

Between 1985 and 2000, he held various technical positions at several large technology companies, including Netscape and WRQ as well as Microsoft, where he served as a lead developer of Microsoft's Web Outlook Access. In 2000, concurrent with his position at PSSG, Dr. Reed combined his passions for ancient history and modern technology, founding the non-profit organization OpenText.org, which provides software tools for improved analysis of ancient and modern texts.

Dr. Reed's educational background is similarly diverse. He holds a bachelor's degree in intercultural studies, a master's degree in Greek, and a PhD in ancient history with specialization in artificial intelligence and linguistics from Sheffield University in England. He has also published eight books and 40 articles about ancient history.

Dr. Reed lives in Seattle, Wash. A native of Montana, he maintains a cabin there and enjoys hiking, fly-fishing and golf, especially when he can do it with his two sons.
