Account Executive
Reports To: Director, Area SalesLocation(s): Varies
Summary:
Accountable for successfully closing profitable sales transactions through researching sales leads, obtaining knowledge of customer organizations, developing customer relationships, building strong business relationships with our partners and vendors, generating product and/or services proposals and quotations, and managing orders through delivery, invoicing, and collections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from own professional network, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, newspapers, business directories, and other sources.
- Builds and maintains research on prospective and current customers relating to how each customer is organized hierarchically, brands, channels, and key relationships.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
- Determines customer needs and sale scope.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales terms and conditions for orders obtained.
- Convinces customer of sale value and closes sale according to established protocols.
- Creates business cases and high level financial models including ROI and TCO analysis to help in the positioning and selling of technology based solutions to solve real-world business problems.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Logicalis’ and our partners’ production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Works with Customer Service Representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Tracks stock levels.
- Coordinates customer training.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Attends trade shows.
- Strong expertise working with PC/laptops and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in business, marketing or related field.
- 2-4 years experience selling IBM or HP products and services for a reseller.
- Ability to combine products and services into technology solutions that meet customers’ business needs.
- Ability to provide documentation demonstrating success sales results while employed by a reseller.
