Cisco Configuration Specialist

Location(s):   Lisle, IL

Summary:
Assists Cisco-specialized Technical Consultants by offloading the daily router, switch and hub configuration and quote requests from clients. Supports the Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) in completing Cisco Marketplace for large and small orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists Cisco Technical Consultants and Cisco ISRs with router, switch and hub configuration and basic quote requests.
• Creates Cisco Marketplaces for Cisco direct orders.
• Accurately builds and creates Cisco product configurations.
• Prepares configuration and quotation statistics to report against opportunity progression through the funnel to closure.
• Works with solution sales teams (Account Executives and field-based Technical Consultants) for continuous improvement of inside sales methodology, tools, and processes.

Education and/or Experience:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with Cisco products.
  • 2+ years experience configuring Cisco routers, switches and hubs.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Technology Solutions.
  • Experience creating Cisco Marketplace IDs.
  • Experience working with Cisco direct and through distribution channels.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Cisco CCDA certification (Cisco Certified Design Associate) is a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate with senior management effectively and with ease.
• Ability to execute and improve efficient and effective work procedures for field sales and ISR teams to interact especially when separated by distance (“virtual offices”) and time (multiple time zones, input and queries arriving and output delivered during “off hours”, etc.).
• Ability to multi-task and work in a face paced environment.
• Ability to successfully work as a team and independently.

Other Qualifications:

• Collaborates well with team members and cross-departmentally, as well as externally.
• Excellent communication skills – oral and written presentation abilities.
• May need to periodically adjust working schedule to accommodate periods of high volume or absences of other ISR team members.
